Lightweight Design of Shell Based on Finite Element Method

Abstract The shell structure design of modern spacecraft internal devices is developing towards lightweight, high-performance, and low-cost. In order to achieve a lightweight construction the structure, this work takes as an optimization object. Under premise ensuring that stiffness box meets requirements, adopts post-design method. First, preliminary model was conducted using SolidWorks, then transient dynamic analysis conducted. results met requirements. Then, topology optimized ANSYS Workbench software, are improved based on assembly conditions. Finally, performed compared with previous results. It found requirements were still met, while weight reduced by about 36.8%. This achieved shell, performance, costs.
